The suspected Islamic terrorists who live in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia attacked to assassinate Arakanese political leaders and social leaders: U Aye Tha Aung, Dr. Aye Maung, U Hla Myint, Khaing Koung San, San Kyaw Hla and Tin Htoo Aung.
According to various information sources said, the leaders’ BNW vehicle was suddenly blitzed by two terrorists on a motorcycle, in Jalan Alor. The two terrorist gunmen fired fifth shots leaders after shopping -- had just lift from “Plaza Low Yat”-- to their way in Bukit Bintany, Kula Lumpur at 11:30 pm Wednesday, February 5, 21014. During murder attempt, nobody was injured; however, BNW’s car mirror was broken at the back door of lift side where Dr. Aye Maung was sitting. The plotter gunmen ran away from the scene of the crime after shooting.
Dr. Aye Maung, President of Rakhine Nationalities Party, said, “We had informed the accident to Police in Malaysia.” And “They opened case file and will interrogate it,” he said. “Malaysia security guard and police respectably escorted our trip and returning home,” he added.
According to Burma Times, ACP Khairi Aharsa, Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, Kula Lumpur, confirmed the incident and they are going to investigate under section 307 of the penal code for attempted murder. After arriving to Rangoon , Arakanese leaders made a press conference at the “Rakhine Dhamma Hall” east side of Shwedagoon Pogada on February 7, 2014. During the press conference, Dr. Aye Maung said that he was targeted by gun shooting. Before he visited to Malaysia, he received the intimidation letters by e-mail and he knew that through social media Facebook and twitter. U Aye Tha Aung, Chairman of the Arakan League for Democracy, also received a long threat letter written by English. Later, he will be released and posted it. U Aye Tha Aung said that their intentions, visit to Malaysia, were to explain the current situation of politic in Arakan and Burma and he would like to suggest all Arakanese should come back home to build the country. U Hla Myint, a leader of Arakan League for Democracy, also explained his experience the during accident scene. Arakanese leaders visited to Kula Lumpur on January 30, 2014; and, they held the meeting on February 5 with Arakanese people--they are working as immigrant workers in Malaysia. Their visiting was invited by Arakanese Social Community, headed by U Saw Aung. This assassination attempted to target Arakanese leaders by Islamic terrorists because all Arakanese leaders always undertake their outstanding service and protection for their national interest, national security, territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
